Nora: A hushed sobbing came from the depths of the closet laiden with hordes of brightly colored girls clothing. Nora sat, knees curled to her chin, her face buried in her hands as her body shook with a new round of sobbing. Her mother had stopped knocking a while ago and it just made the teenagers heart hurt all the more. She despised her intrusive parents but somehow, knowing they were afraid of her made the whole situation even more unbearable. It all had started innocently enough, stray animals following her around, but now there she was on every news channel 'Dog Girl' 'The dog whisperer', none of these were used in a flattering light. She was a monster, a freak, a mutant.
Kon: <Kon had been working for three days, nonstop, and she was about ready to drop. Though before she could do any such thing, several other tasks lay before her. The collection of a young woman who had made the evening news was a priority, and she had managed to access her location through some serious digging. Though in all honesty Marrow was much better at finding people than she was, and so she was following her lead. A cup of coffee in a portal mug with the black Xavier logo on it was clutched in her hand, the other held the steering wheel as the trio of woman headed towards Nora's last known location.f>
Marrow: :; Marrows was crammed in the backseat of the car, knees up to her chin as she grumbled about losing the bid for the front seat. Scowling, she glared out the window. :: "Are we fuckin' there yet? I'm getting a fuckin' cramp in my ass." :: This girl better be worth it and shouldn't be useless. She hated the fuckin' useless bitches. :: <f>
Ariel: Sitting smugly in the front seat, Ariel ignored the fuming woman behind her as she painted her fingernails. Taking a long car ride was kind of a unique experience for her since she usually just instantly traveled from one location to another. It wasn’t something she was actually enjoying considering the company, but managing to travel from the front door of the mansion directly into the passenger seat of the car had at least given her the pleasure of winning. Holding up her hand to look at the results of her nails, she moved her hand a bit so the glitter would catch the light. “How exactly do you decide on a person’s usefulness?”
Kon: I'm guessing by how combative they are <Kon filled in for Marrow, taking a sip of her old, cold coffee before pulling up to the house. They had spent the better half of the car ride bickering about what exits and turns to make, and Kon was happy they were finally here> You're always a cramp in my ass, Marrow, but we still keep you around <She comments, sliding the mug into the cup holder> We're here. Lets try and make this... as graceful as possible <That seemed like an extremely difficult task for the three. They weren't Xavier, afterall. Slamming the door shut, Kon strides up the walkway and knocks on the door, waiting for an answer from the inside. f>
Nora: -Nora sniffled as a drop of snot peeked from her nostil, gross, this was worth leaving her den of self pity for. She wiped the tears from her eyes and crawled out of her closet into the dimly lit room. The lanky teenager pulled a tissue from the box on her vanity and blew her nose, even the depth of sorrow can be lifted for personal hygiene. She tossed the tissue in the trash and heard a knock at the front door. Probably more reporters or hateful viewers but then she heard the muffled voices of her parents and an unknown woman's voice. Nora snuck to her door and cracked it, curious, she peered down the hall. All she could see was her mother's back. f>
Marrow: :: Climbing out of the backseat, Marrow tugged the jean jacket over her bony protrusions on her back and pulled the hat lower on her head to hide the plate across her forehead. :: "Let's do this shit and get back home. My show is on." :: Shoving her hands into her jean pockets and glared across the street at the nice homes. Well, anything is nice when you grow up in a sewer and then a dimension where all there was fighting. :: "I wasn't only like fuckin' paying half attention when you talk boss, what do we-" :: Marrow cringed as Konkata knocked on the door. :: "Well, shit. I hope she's home. Think we look like teachers?"
Ariel: Getting out of the car, Ariel stretched out her cramped limbs and tilted her head forward to look at the house above her sunglasses. The reporters milling around were a concern, even though it wasn’t a huge crowd and she sighed as she sauntered towards them. Appropriately leveling her abilities to the size of the crowd and the anger they were feeling, she spoke in reasonable tones as she informed them that this news story was silly and they would all be better off going back towork and thinking of something actually -useful- to report on. And of course that they didn’t notice the slight sparkle she had taken on in the twilight. As the people disbursed, muttering to themselves about how much time they had wasted here, she turned to follow the other two women to the door. Catching the tail end of Marrow’s words, she snorted. “Not you. You look like a psychopath. Do you intend to stab them into handing over their child? I think that might be counterintuitive to your end goals here.”
Kon: We got the Gilmore Girls on Netflix, Marrow. You can catch up with it later. <Kon wasn't sure exactly what show Marrow was referring too, but she liked to tease her, all the same. Kon was dressed in a casual business suit, the dark circles under her eyes covered in a heavy coating of make-up. She hoped they appeared as teachers, too.> Ok, chill guys. We're professionals, remember? <Kon barely got the question out before the door opened and a woman appeared, gave them one look, and then attempted to close the door. They had apparently seen many visitors over the last day or so> Ma'am! <Kon shoves her foot between the door and frame to jar it open, and peeks her head through the crack to talk with the woman. After a few short words, they managed to gain a suspicious trust with the woman, and were allowed to enter> We feel we can help her, <Kon attempts to reason with the mother, handing over a business card to the institute. The other woman looks it over and, giving the group one last look, turns to call her daughter into the room>
Nora: -Her mother turned down the hall and called- 'Nora, sweety.... ah, would you come out here please?' -Nora could still hear the fear in her voice, it made her stomach churn and pulled her back to reality. She really had no interest in coming out but she really wanted to know who was at the door. Maybe her friends had come by to see her, or perhaps it was the police, come to drag her off like some of the other mutants she'd seen on tv. Slowly the girl opened the door wider and stepped out into the hallway, her stomach in knots, not knowing what she'd find at the other end.
Marrow: "I won't fuckin' stab anyone." :: She clamped her mouth shut as the mother opened the door. She cocked her head, wishing desperately for a cigarette. Kon was the better of the speakers of the two of them, and she didn't know Ariel yet except the bitch was asking to get stabbed later. Or a dead rat left in her bed. Sarah smiled happily at the thought of Ariel screaming at the discovery. :: "We're the mother fuckin' professionals!" :: Sarah shouted at the girl asshe asked her questions. :: "We're here to help you be f*ckin' better at not doing stupid shit. We've got a fuckin' school. We've got a mansion."
Ariel: Good lord, bone lady was like a bull in a china shop. Looking at the girl, Ariel smiled at her, “Don’t mind Sasha here, she doesn’t seem to be quite housebroken.” Waving towards Marrow like she was waving away the angry words. “We are people who can help you learn to deal with the sudden changes in your life. We’re like you. Different.
Nora: -The teenager's false sense of courage shattered like a glass window as the woman in the ratty jean jacket snapped at her. She took a step back and blinked back tears as another woman interjected. Different. The word didn't sit right with her but despite her desire to yell at her, the jean jacket lady scared her. Nora hung her head and mumbled,- 'I don't need help. I just want to be left alone. I didn't ask for any of this. Just go away.' -She turned to walk back to her room.->>
Kon: Kon crandles her forehead in her hand and sighs when Marrow and Ariel blurt out their words with no regard to how difficult this might be without the harsh commentary. But this was her team, and she had to make the best of it> Ok, listen. I'm sorry...my name is Rayanna Cunningham. My associates here are Sarah and Ariel, <She gives the two a gesture before continuing> and we represent the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters <Pausing, she nodded towards Nora> Like yourself. We're not very different from you. We have gifts, too. <Before Kon could continue, the girl was leaving them in the dust, and Kon shot Marrow and Ariel a sinister warning look. This expression, of course, was filled with empty threats, but she hoped to get her point across with it.
Marrow: "Don't be a bitch. It's not that bad. We got things under control. Why are you fuckin' CRYING?" :: She wasn't sure where she was going wrong. She glanced at the others and flipped Ariel the bird about her being the housebroken. Bitch didn't know who she was messing with. :: "Fine. I'll stop talking." she grumbled.
Ariel: Rolling her eyes at Marrow’s not realizing she had scared the kid, Ariel sighed and walked over to the sofa to perch on the arm. Crossing her left leg over her right, she swung her foot back and forth, enjoying the way the jeweled flower on her high heel glittered in the light as she watched Rayanna try to calm the girl down. Crossing her arms over her chest, Ariel nodded towards the kid and said to Rayanna, “Let me know if you want to bypass all this angst.” She wasn’t sure why the X-Men always wanted to do things the hard way. So exhausting, and such a waste of time.
Nora: -As Nora turned, she felt something tug at her pajama pants, she stopped and looked down. Her eyes widened and she let out a blood curdiling scream before leaping onto the nearest person, unfortunate for the jean clad scary woman. A mouse, a nasty little mouse had tried to climb up her leg! Thankfully the thing had fallen off as she jerked away and was now sitting on it's haunches stairing at the cluster of women. Nora's hands pulled desperately at the denim jacket as her legs wrapped around the womans torso, trying to scramble as far away from the rodent on the floor. Her high pitched screaming continued, -'KILL IT! KILL IT! DO SOMETHING! GET IT AWAY!'- She screeched, again, unfortunately for the jean jacket laday because the brunt of it was directed at her face.-
Kon: Kon was in a circus. A damn circus. No, it was worse. A circus had some form of control. There was a Ring Master who cracked a whip, and everything obeyed. This was more of a Three Stooge's episode. The girl had literally leaped onto the one person who'd have the least sympathy for her in regards to fear over a rodent. Lifting a hand, she shakes it a couple times to draw a small amount of energy to her palm, and blasts the creature into oblivion. Where normally, she'd probably just kick it against the wall to kill it like the rats which invade the stable, she purposefully displayed a small portion of power to both incinerate the critter and get the point across that she, too had powers like the frightened teen.> Its gone. <She points out, the only thing left of the creature being a scorch mark on the carpet and a few blackened bone. The girl's mother did, indeed check out. Her child was a mutant. She needed her...well, gone.
Marrow: :: Marrow was busy sulking about not speaking when she heard the teenager scream. Her eyes widen and she was forced to immediately come up with a new martial art involving flailing as the teenager did her best sloth impression. :: "Sonova- *yelp*" :: The sudden weight of Nora caused them both to topple backwards, taking out a rose bush as the teen shrieked about a mouse. Marrow tried to shove the iron grip of the girl away from her but it was mostly gasping and trying crawl away from the clingy teenager. :: "Kon! Get the fuckin' kid off me! There's fuckin' hugs!"
Ariel: As the shrieking girl leapt at Marrow, Ariel started laughing so hard that she fell over off of the arm of the sofa onto the main part of the couch. Laughing so hard that tears started running down her face, she thought maybe she should do something to help, but she just couldn’t. Her sunglasses fell off and she collapsed back against the back of the sofa as her laughs tapered off to hiccuping giggles as Rayanna took out the mouse and Marrow tried to crawl away from the harmless teenager. Settling her hands on her stomach, she kept giggling as she smoothed down her dress and decided that for all she could say about this current crop of X-Men, boring they were -not-.
Nora: -Nora froze as the mouse was suddenly gone, she stared at the woman responsible, completely oblivious to the scary jean lady's attempts to pry Nora from her. It barely registered that they were now on the ground, oh, there it was. Nora pushed herself off the scary lady, her mouth agape as she looked at each of the women around her. The lady dying on the couch, the scary jean lady on the ground and the calm, somewhat collected one standing over the scorched remains of the big scary mouse. The mouse suddenly seemed like the least of her worries at the moment, it never occured to her that these woman could posess abilities that could harm or even kill. She stuttered, 'A... am I going to... will you... how...' complete sentences were beyond her currently fried mind. Shocked and frankly, scared shitless, she finally got a thought together. 'You said you live in a mansion?' Because that's what really matters, right?
Kon: Nora, <Kon states, motioning to both Marrow and Ariel in an effort to group them altogether> Welcome to the X-Men. <The chaos involved was exactly what it was like to be a part of the budding facility, and the young woman might as well be aware of it> We do live in a mansion. With wifi and a pool, and daily sessions to help you figure out and control what you've...developed. This isn't you're fault that you're like this, and its not a bad thing. We understand whats happening to you, because it happened to us too, and the facility helped us hone and sharpen our talents <So, Kon was lying through her teeth there. The facility hardly helped the three women currently involved with it, but it -did- help others, and that was the point>..You don't need to be afraid of us. We're the good guys
Nora: Good guys? Did that mean there were bad guys? The cops maybe? Or some other government agency? Nora had no idea what she was in for but if these people could help her get rid of all these animals that keep swarming her, she was game. Maybe then she could go back to being a normal teenager. Plus, spending her days in a mansion with free wifi and a pool didn't sound like such a bad deal. Maybe there'd be boys there too! Ooo, there's a thought, perhaps this whole school for freaks wouldn't be so bad.
Kon: <Kon had been working for three days, nonstop, and she was about ready to drop. Though before she could do any such thing, several other tasks lay before her.
