The Xavier Mansion stood in ruin, empty and desolate. No one had graced the property for years, it was though any sign of life had suddenly vanished. Layers of dust coated every surface available and items had been left out during mid-activity, abandoned before completion. The entire scene gave the impression of whatever happened here, happened suddenly and it happened fast.
Kon had done a basic search through the upper levels, trying to piece together exactly what happened to the once buzzing and abundant facility. Each level told the same story; quick and sudden evacuation or abandonment, but nothing else. No damage to the structure could be found, other than what nature could manage in the years it had been left unchecked, and so a serious and violent attack on the X-Men and their home was not the answer for everyone's sudden disappearance.
Kon had yet to venture down into the lower levels, as Marrow had promised to check them out later in the day. Eventually, Kon had found her way to the dorm building, and what she viewed stopped her in her tracks. Boards had been nailed to the entrance, a crude yet effective way of barring anyone out. This was rather an unusual scene for the property, as high tech security measures took care of securing off-limit areas. But the dorms? And why such a crude barrier? Kon picked up a strand of yellow tape that had been hanging limply from the corner of the blocked door and upon reading it's message, she releases it as though it caught fire and backpedaled until the porch railing caught her.

Kon picked up a strand of yellow tape that had been hanging limply from the corner of the blocked door and upon reading it's message, she releases it as though it caught fire and backpedaled until the porch railing caught her.
The message read "QUARANTINE".
Rubbing her fingers together, a subconscious way of somehow ridding her skin of anything she might have picked up while handling the tape, Kon finally reaches to her belt and plucks the walkie-talkie from it's holster. "Marrow," her thumb releases the button to listen for a reply, but she was a bit too unnerved to actually wait for one, "Marrow, I think I found out what happened here."
The sound of a truck yanked her attention away from the horror before her and she quickly hooks the communication device back onto her belt and scurries off the porch to meet the delivery man. She would need to further investigate the dorms, but later. As of right now, she greets the driver with a smile and signed the delivery forms as though nothing unusual was discovered. There was a schedule to keep if they wanted this place up and ready to accept more students soon. She and Marrow would investigate the dorm devastation later. Whatever happened had been strictly diverted to a single building so the rest of the property seemed safe....for now.
